Our 4 descents in detail
What makes each descent special, to help you plan your outing on the Semois.
Alle → Vresse-sur-Semois
Duration : 1h30 to 2h | Best for : families with children, beginners, short outings.
The most accessible descent: a very gentle current, few obstacles and plenty of pebble beaches for a break or a picnic. You set off from Alle-sur-Semois and drift quietly towards Vresse, a village of artists.
Poupehan → Alle-sur-Semois
Duration : 2h30 to 3h | Best for : groups of friends, nature lovers, relaxed paddlers.
One of the wildest wooded stretches of the valley: beech and oak trees along the banks, a carrying current and very little effort required. With a bit of luck you will spot a kingfisher.
Alle → Membre-sur-Semois
Duration : 3h to 3h30 | Best for : landscape lovers, curious explorers, occasional sporty paddlers.
A half-day that passes through Vresse then follows the meanders down to Membre. It needs a little more stamina than the 7 km, but with no technical difficulty: a good balance between effort and relaxation.
Alle → Bohan-sur-Semois
Duration : 4h30 to 5h | Best for : sporty paddlers, full-day trips, adventure seekers.
The long crossing to the edge of the French border, through the best-preserved nature of the Semois. Plan on a full day, a good picnic and enough water; the shuttle then takes you back to Alle.

Safety and a short outing matter most for little adventurers (from 2–3 years old). Steer clear of routes longer than 10 km.
